Marie joined OPG in June 2024 as a Senior Development Associate. In this role, Marie manages all aspects of projects from acquisition through construction and stabilization. She has been in the affordable housing industry for over 10 years, and has extensive experience in new construction, acquisition/rehabilitation, 4% and 9% deals. She is passionate about affordable housing and housing, in general, as a human right.

 

Marie started her career as a consultant expanding access to LIHTC to American Indian tribes throughout the country. She advocated for and closed the first four tribal LIHTC projects ever in California, and others in Nebraska, Minnesota, and Washington. She also successfully lobbied for and secured the first ever award of LIHTC to a tribal project in Nevada. Marie then worked as a Senior Project Manager for an affordable housing developer in Southern California, developing in multiple (seemingly countless) jurisdictions. She secured over $228M in funding on projects closed during her 5 years working exclusively in California.

 

Marie has lived coast-to-coast, from Philadelphia to San Diego. She has a degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Missouri. She is now back in her hometown, residing in Prairie Village with her husband, Damien, their two children, Gabe and Romy, and two cats, Chirpy and Wendy. Marie currently has no hobbies because….two toddlers.
